I was in the area for work and the person I was with wanted to stop here for a drink. Well, we ended up staying waaaaaayyyyy too long because while the RR isn't glamorous, it's one of the friendliest bar/grilles I've ever visited. Is the food amazing (or anything special for that matter)? Nope - but it's solid. Stick with a burger or a sandwich and you'll be just fine. Red Rooster seems to be mostly locals but we were treated warmly by both the bartender and other patrons. Another reviewer compared it to "Cheers" and I'd agree 100%. Everyone was just so....nice. (After a few days of mostly rude servers near the Mall of America this was a relief) Prices are really reasonable and drinks were being poured generously. I'm pretty sure people aren't going to drive here from downtown but it's absolutely worth stopping if you're nearby for a chill good time. Other random notes: *WTF is up with the pull tabs? Like there was a whole counter selling just pull tabs and people were buying literal baskets full. Must be a MN thing? *I've also never seen anyone actually order Michelob Golden Light before but at least half the bar was drinking them. *Their buffalo chicken strips were pretty tasty *You can do good or evil on the jukebox. Last night, the guy in the howling wolf tshirt was Satan himself. Like really, really bad country.... Red Rooster really reminded me of an "up north Wisconsin" bar with less taxidermy. Rock on with your Michelob Golden Lights, MN.

This is my go to burger joint, not to crazy about cheap taco night but it's a great value for the money and an economical way to feed the kids. If I'm not having a burger I opt for the Cobb Salad with the sweet and spicy dressing is huge and wonderful.

Stopped in on Saturday night to enjoy their wonderful burgers. It was later in the evening but apparently the dinner crowd was eating late. I was told it would be 45 minutes for my burgers. Seemed like a long wait but I didn't have other options that late in the evening. Other people at the bar were having the same long wait. After I had been there for almost 40 minutes, I was told it would be 15 minutes more. Long after 9 in the evening, with no other options I had to wait. Lorraine, the bar tender, did her very best to make a bad situation better and she saved the experience with her attention and how she handled the way too long of a wait. She turned this experience from one star to three stars. Without her, this would have been a complete failure. Well done, Lorraine!!

Wednesday night wings are now .50/Ea since the last time I enjoyed them. You do have to order in sets of 3. Still a good deal!

Better than average bar food. The service we had for our group of 11 was amazing. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, they joked with us, jumped right in on jokes and all-in-all, they really kept egging us on to have a better time. I could say more, but I'm sure you're not even reading this any more (if you are, good for you). The prices are good and I hear that their breakfast is just as good. Simply put, the service of this place makes me want to come back for a Sunday breakfast (until then, I'll just stick with the burger).

I have driven through Long Lake many times over the years and had never stopped in the Red Rooster. A couple of weeks ago, I met some friends for dinner there and i'm glad I did. I ordered the fish and chips, and was amazed at the huge portion and how delicious the fish was. The fish is just the right amount of crisp and not too flaky. The price didn't break the bank either. Needless to say, I stopped in there again today and ordered a smaller "lunch" sized portion fish n chips. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly, checking to see how I was doing every now and then. I believe it was the owner who delivered my food and asked me how my meal was afterwards. Overall a great meal, not too spendy and in a friendly environment. I love this place!

We were driving through town back to the city and stopped for lunch at the Rooster. Boy were we not overwhelmed! I ordered the chicken teriyaki salad. Not only do they refrigerate their tomatoes but they served their salad on iceberg lettuce with CANNED pineapple & olives. meh! I expected a higher quality considering the price tag and being more in the farmland that we'd get fresh produced prepared properly. We were wrong! Probably will not return. Service was not wonderful. We waited a good amount of time before our order was taken and they were not busy.

The red rooster got a face lift! The bar looks great. This is a local favorite. They have cheap tacos on Tuesday and cheap wings on Wednesday. The gals behind the bar are great and pour a generous drink. Try a grape ape. My favorite food... fish n' chips. The portions are generous and fairly priced. Love this place!

I stopped at the Red Rooster because I heard it was an amazing local bar in Long Lake...and this is SO true. I'm getting married near Long Lake and wanted to check out the bar to see if it would be a fun place to stop in between my ceremony and reception. The sandwich are unique and all look pretty awesome. I had the onion rings (per a Yelp review) and they were fantastic. This is a great place to stop for a beer and burger or to just have a fun time with the locals. Oh, and the bartenders were extremely friendly, attentive, and appeared to know most of their customers--which means people love to come back!

The Rooster has become a family staple. It is a joint. Their menu has something for everyone in our family. Burgers are great. Lots of kids choices. Casual dress attire is mandatory. Kids are in their sports uniforms. Adults might have full snowmobile gear on. Nightly drink specials. Sometimes they even feature bands. The only issue we ever have are the old, personality challenged, waitresses in the back section. Slow would be an understatement. Be ready to order they might not come back.

The 'Rooster is another spot that I have been coming to since I was a little kid. The burgers are great and the Bloody Mary's are stiff. The beer battered onion rings and buffalo wings are fantastic too. This place is two years older than I am, making it one of the oldest businesses in Long Lake. As with most townie spots, you might get really slow service when it's busy.

Wow the red rooster is an anomaly wrapped in a riddle. No it's a neighborhood bar wrapped in a biker dive. No it's a place where trust fund kids rub elbows with welders. Yeah that's it, it's all those things. Depending on who waits on you you could have the most wonderful smiling happy efficient bartender, or you could have large marge from pee wees big adventure. This place is a trip. Taco Tuesday, wing Wednesday, frat boy Friday. You simply have to go there a few times. See what you think. Mind=blown.

The Rooster, or "The Chicken" as we call it is totally a local hangout. The servers know all the regulars by name and it kinda has a "Cheers-y" feel to it. You can hang out in the front by the bar and play some jams on the jukebox or go to the back and sit down for a legit meal. The prices are cheap for the Mpls area and the food is fine. It's nothing super spectacular, but it's great for a neighborhood hangout where people actually give a damn about you. Yes, I'll be back there the next time I'm in the area, and I'll be ordering a salad... and drinks... cuz you can do that in a neighborhood joint and it's cool.

Can we say the Minnesota version of Cheers??? The Rooster has great food that is priced right and people are friendly. There is a place where you can play pool or darts but the area is par but functional. I think this place has some of the best burgers and the best French dip in the cities.

The food to price ratio is right on! I prefer to sit in the back dining area because we have a kids, but the bar does have a very local feel to it.

Went for happy hour after work and was pleasantly surprised by the price of drinks. We were a tough group to handle (lots of people up and people coming and going from the table) but the waitress did a pretty good job. I ordered chips and salsa with queso but the queso was an unpleasant surprise. Seemed just like melted velveeta. I don't get into Long Lake very often (thanks to the bypass) but I would stop for happy hour again sometime. Gotta love cheap beer!
